  1. On My Way
In cart Not available Out of stock

This rambling alternative bluegrass banjo folk song of wandering asks people not to give up on the planet and civilization. Sure things are a mess, but don’t destroy everything on account of a few bad parts, “don’t throw out the baby with the bathwater this time.” The almost soft –pop chorus calls on all to remember the beauty in all things. That is The Way (an alternate title.).

On My Way
© Roman Rhodes, 2018

I’m on my way to find the sun.
The peace is broken; I’m on the run.
So bloody tired of this world of guns.
We were building something so beautiful but they
clung to their fear and it’s coming undone, when

We know the way, put your boots back on:
We got some work to do, to stop things going so wrong.
This long walk ahead, through all the smoke and the haze.
Hold that thread that leads back to the ancient ways of love,
Back to the golden pagan days of love.

Chorus: Like a voice upon the wind,
Or a distant shining oh so dim.
That light that is within,
Listen to its call, before the fall

And as the sun does rise and set
Will we become wise, will we learn our lesson yet?
Before we get what we deserve, on this road…
I dare not to say the words.

And I know I should fear no evil through this valley of death,
But this smog of ignorance makes it hard to catch my breath.
But then I catch a glimpse beneath the trees, sun reflecting on the river
I think of all I see, the oneness, the light glimmers all aquiver.

Repeat chorus

And don't throw out the baby with the bathwater this time.
Sure many things aren’t perfect, but some are so fine.
The tree of life is sacred, and grows strong beneath the crimes
Of greed, religion and ignorance,
let’s just cut back these killer vines! That is the way.

End:
We’re on our way, such a long road,
and it gets darker before the dawn.
We’re in the maze of the minotaur,
just keep holding on to the thread of love
Golden pagan ways of love.
